A ballet of unseen sorrow

The elegant dancing figures seem immersed in a harmonious movement reminiscent of the grace of classical ballet. Yet this grace is not liberating: it is a form of defense. The fragmented bodies appear protected, armored, impermeable. They are not vulnerable bodies, but bodies that have learned not to feel too much.
The most powerful contrast emerges from the background, representing the constant noise of the real world, impossible to ignore, yet relegated to a mere backdrop. The dancers do not look, do not react, do not interrupt.
Here, indifference is not superficiality, but a survival strategy. The work seems to suggest that, faced with a constant flow of horror, the only way to move forward is to transform the pain into something distant, almost abstract—a background. Dance thus becomes an ambiguous act: on the one hand, escape, on the other, anesthesia.

Le figure danzanti, eleganti, sembrano immerse in un movimento armonioso che richiama la grazia del balletto classico. Eppure, questa grazia non è liberatoria: è una forma di difesa. I corpi, frammentati, appaiono come protetti, corazzati, impermeabili. Non sono corpi vulnerabili, ma corpi che hanno imparato a non sentire troppo.
Il contrasto più potente emerge dallo sfondo, rappresenta il rumore costante del mondo reale, impossibile da ignorare, eppure relegata a semplice fondale. Le danzatrici non guardano, non reagiscono, non si interrompono.
Qui l’indifferenza non è superficialità, ma strategia di sopravvivenza.
