Free your mind, female

Subtitle: I drew the butterflies you can't see.
Imagine taking a deep breath, and feeling each inhale gently dissolve tension and thought, until a sense of peace... and lightness begins to emerge.
Butterflies once mere chrysalises symbolize this very transformation: from matter to the weightlessness of flight, to freedom. It's as if they represent parts of ourselves that finally find the courage to open their wings and rise upward.
At the heart of the sculpture, the pendant worn around the neck holds the symbolic core of the piece: the “desire for lightness.”
The butterflies carved in the lower section can only break free by passing through this inner journey, and once released, they fly away, carrying with them the rational mind—the part that often holds back our true essence.
It is an invitation to free and embody our own lightness, to let go of the invisible weights that anchor us to Mother Earth, allowing the soul to float.
To release fear, judgment, and expectation, so we may welcome the most authentic and radiant parts of who we are.
To live with an open heart, embracing life as a game, a dance free from taboos and shame, so we may allow ourselves to be free and brilliant.
To walk through the world with the step of someone who finally feels at home, anywhere and in any way, with the spirit of one who lifts into a gentle flight.
And if, after seeing this sculpture, you smile and let out a deep sigh, you’ll know that you, too, have begun to release a little of your own lightness.
You may have never seen your butterflies take flight—but I have. And I’ve drawn them for you.

Immagina di respirare profondamente, e senti che ogni respiro dissolve tensioni e pensieri, fino a far emergere un senso di pace …..e leggerezza.
Le farfalle, ancor prima crisalidi, simboleggiano proprio questo passaggio: dalla materia alla leggerezza del volo, alla libertà. È come se rappresentassero parti di noi che, finalmente, trovano il coraggio di aprire le ali e alzarsi verso l’alto.
Al centro della scultura, il pendente al collo custodisce il nucleo simbolico dell’opera: il “desiderio di leggerezza”. Le farfalle scolpite nella parte inferiore possono liberarsi solo passando attraverso quel passaggio interiore per poi volare via portando con sé la parte più razionale della mente — quella che spesso trattiene la nostra vera essenza.
È un invito a liberare e vivere la propria leggerezza, lasciare andare i pesi invisibili che ci ancorano alla madre terra, permettendo all'anima di fluttuare. Lasciare andare le paure, i giudizi e le aspettative, per accogliere la parte più autentica e luminosa di noi stessi.
Vivere questa leggerezza con il cuor aperto, per prendere la vita come un gioco, come una danza libera di tabù e vergogne, per permettere a noi stessi di essere liberi e splendenti.
Camminare nel mondo con il passo di chi si sente finalmente a casa in ogni luogo, ed in ogni modo, con lo spirito di chi si libera in un volo lieve.
E se dopo aver visto questa scultura sorriderai e farai un profondo sospiro, saprai di aver cominciato anche tu a liberare un po’ della tua leggerezza; tu non hai mai visto le tue farfalle volare via, ma io si, e le ho disegnate per te.
