This sculpture of Lucy van Pelt aims to highlight a less “sharp-edged” side of the character compared to how we usually see her in the Peanuts comic strips. Lucy appears serene, with her eyes closed and a soft, almost dreamy smile—a contrast to her typically strong-willed, ironic, and slightly bossy personality. I chose this stylistic approach to make her seem more empathetic and human, as if revealing a moment of inner calm that rarely emerges in the panels. The “deconstructed” body design suggests the idea that the character is built from pieces of stories, emotions, and relationships—a reference to the fragmented nature of comic strips. The background, featuring the original panels, reinforces this concept, creating a visual dialogue between the “classic” Lucy and this more contemplative reinterpretation.

Questa scultura di Lucy van Pelt vuole evidenziare un lato meno “spigoloso” del personaggio rispetto a come lo vediamo di solito nelle strisce di Peanuts.
